The Audit the Pentagon Initiative is everyday people who have banded together with nonprofit organizations, prominent individuals, bloggers and others.
Our Principles emphasize that the Pentagon should comply with the law and pass an audit, just like taxpayers. Parts of the Pentagon that are unauditable should suffer some immediate financial consequences. Each part of the Pentagon should be judged on its own merits. Contract audits should be reformed so that agency-wide financial audits are built on a real foundation. It’s time to end business as usual in Washington, DC and serve final notice to the Pentagon.
We are patriots of all political perspectives. In the Coalition Principles, we agree to disagree on details such as: whether DOD’s base budget should be reduced instead of frozen; how much to spend on specific defense programs; how much to spend on non-military government agencies; which if any wars the US should wage; where any savings should go; the size of DOD’s budget after it passes an audit; whether or how to reduce the federal budget deficit; how to fix the economy; etc.
This website contains information, arguments and links to appeal to various perspectives. We agree only on these Principles and agree to disagree on many details. No endorser agrees with everything on this site.
